Nostalgic Hardware
So, as I mentioned on Twitter, I came across my old blog circa 2001 via The Internet Wayback Machine. One of my posts was from Friday, August 10, 2001 in which I detailed my then-cutting-edge computer hardware that I’d obtained. Since I can’t really link it very well, I’ll just plagiarize myself and post it here again.

I know no one really cares at all, but here are my current CPU specs. I may change things around a bit but so far I’m pretty happy with what I’ve got under the case, as it were:
- ABIT KT7A-RAID Mainboard
- AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.2Ghz (non-overclocked)
- Thermalright SK6 heatsink with a Delta 60mm 38 CFM Fan
- 256MB of PC133 CAS2 7.5ns Crucial SDRAM
- Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 40GB Ultra DMA 66 7200RPM HD
- Samsung 4.3GB 5400 HD
- Yamaha CRW2100EZ 16X/40X/16X CD-RW Drive
- Acer CRW 6432 6X/4X/32X CD-RW Drive
- Creative PC-DVD Encore 12X DVD-ROM Drive
- Memorex 48X CD-ROM Drive
- Visiontek 32MB GeForce2 GTS AGP Video Card
- 3Com 3C905C-TX-M 10/100MBit Ethernet Adapter with WOL Support
- Creative Dxr3 DVD Decoder Card
- Creative SoundBlaster Live! MP3+ 5.1 Sound Card
All stuffed inside an Apex ATX 100FT Full Tower Case with an AMD approved Deer 300-ATX Power Supply. Whew! All of this by the way is running a dual boot of SuSE Linux 7.2 on a 30GB partition, and Windows 98SE on a 10GB partition.

Yeah… ain’t she a beast?! Oh, and if none of the links in that post work anymore, I wouldn’t be surprised… it’s nine years old, after all.
